FOUNDER:
Frederike Leclerc

I am a dedicated student of Open-Monitoring Meditation. Over the past 10 years, I have sought to optimize my emotional and physical health in order to cultivate sustainable levels of energy and calm.  Earning a living through screens and keyboards often left me unfulfilled and overwhelmed.

Listening to my inner voice, which urged me to pay attention to the physical and mental toll exposure to digital spaces was taking, I began to seek out meditation and movement practices to regain my balance.

Mettā Walks is the result of my investigation to date. It is a protocol short enough to fit into a busy schedule, but impactful enough to provide the clarity needed moment to moment.  It is a digital detox that fits into the weekly schedule—a commitment to training the mind and body for sustainable clarity and calm.

I have trained with the following teachers:

Master Fan Xiulan

Founder of the Biyun method Biyun Academy.

Master Fan Xiulan is a qualified physician in Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has been an authorized Medical Qi Gong Master for many years and was a board member of both the Chinese and the World Academic Society of Medical Qi Gong.

Fan Xiulan teaches the Health Preservation Method globally.

I trained with her in Stockholm, Sweden.

Originally introduced to this teacher by my mother, Master Fan Xiulan has awakened my appreciation for the lineage of human knowledge and the significance of intergenerational exchange with respect to well-being and flourishing on a larger scale.

Venerable Ajahn Kalyano

Buddha Bodhivana Monastery.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand chose Venerable Ajahn Kalyano to receive the honorary title of Chao Khun Sophon Pavanavithet in recognition of his contribution to spreading the teachings of the Buddha.

Ajahn Kalyano leads silent meditation retreats according to the Thai Forest Tradition around the world.

I trained with him in Snaty, Ireland.

My interest in his work lies in the exploration of the relationship between body and mind. His background in Clinical Psychology makes his work particularly complementary to Western lifestyles. Ajahn Kalyano - Buddha Bodhi Vana

Jon Kabat-Zinn

Founder of Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.

From its inception in 1979, MBSR was envisioned as a public health project rather than a therapy.

The aim was, over time, to shift the bell curve of society toward greater health and well-being on every level—from the individual medical patient or person trying to optimize their health, to society more broadly, and to the health of the planet as a whole—since one cannot be fully healthy in an unhealthy and toxic world.

His foundational work is reflected in current neurological investigations into the importance of mindset regulation.
